  CHAPTER VI

MAKING A BASIC PATTERN USING C.P.M.

NOTE:

•    Remember that you can stop in the middle of any command by TYPEing the ESCape key at any time.

•    If you ENTER an incorrect command you can UNDO it by SELECTing UNDO from the EDIT menu.  If you UNDO and then decide it was a mistake, SELECT REDO from the EDIT menu to back up one step to what you have just UNDOne.

•    Many commands can be immediately repeated by CLICKing the ENTER button on the cursor device.

•    During a command that contains repeatable sub-commands such as "SELECT OBJECT:", CLICK the ENTER button on the cursor device to end SELECTing and go on to the next sub-command.

•    In order to use this program as efficiently as possible, try to use the cursor device to enter almost all your commands, including ENTER to repeat a command or end a command.  Only use the key board to ENTER when it will speed things up.  Also, once you begin to learn the commands, you will find that it may be faster to type some sub- command choices  in than to go through a pop-down menu to SELECT the sub-command with the cursor device.

For those of you who feel comfortable with a computer is an outline of the step by step instructions that follow.
