This slide show demonstrates the process used to make a self gusseted
dance sleeve for maxiumum movement.
The "dance sleeve" cut sets the sleeve against the torso
at a higher angle than the traditional "dressmaker sleeve".
When combined with a high-set armhole, it allows for a decent range
of theatrical movement.
The self-gusset format is one of the several formats for gussets
that can be combined with any sleeve. If the movement requriements
are primarily for up and down movement it works quite well, even
when places on a fitted bodice. If lateral movement is of importance
this format may not be the best because the grain is not bias on
the center of the gussets.
